Youth Cancer Europe is committed to push for equal care and equal access for all patients across the continent and is especially committed to projects that further research, establish a database and benchmark how EU Member States safeguard patients’ rights that derive from European legal acts, including the Cross Border Health Directive. To see more about this topic, please see our White Paper, launched in October 2018 at the European Parliament.

There are 44 countries in Europe with independent administrations, 35 of them with more than 1 million citizens; more than 60 indigenous regional and minority languages, with 23 officially recognised languages just in the European Union. Europe is bound to be fragmented, with huge gaps in education, information, medical advances, service delivery and access to new (or even old) medicines, leading to huge differences in survival rates across the continent against the backdrop of socioeconomic and cultural differences, traced back to historical upheavals that carved Europe’s current landscape.

From 16th to 19th July 2019 in Budapest, Hungary, Youth Cancer Europe is bringing together youth cancer leaders from the entire continent, to unite them around concrete goals that reflect the specific needs and wants of European youth with cancer and grow the movement of young people’s voices being heard across Europe.
